The 'unplugged' guitar
Visually this guitar has a strong link to back in the day. With its Ambertone top, Herringbone trim and antique white binding it has 1933 written all over it. But make no mistake, this is also very much a guitar for today's guitarists. The neck is an absolute dream to play. With a High Performance Taper Modified Low Oval shape, 16 radius, 24.9 scale length and a 1 3/4 nut width, this Martin is supremely comfortable and smooth underhand. The Ebony fingerboard is the perfect partner for this neck; beautifully crafted its a real treat to play. With an incredible Sitka Spruce top you get a really dynamic and vibrant tone. Pair that with the East Indian Rosewood back and sides and you have a tonal dream team, its visually and tonally stunning. The 14th fret join allows for great access up the neck and a perfectly poised and balanced playing experience. Sonically this guitar is a real surprise. It has a strong accentuated midrange which is unusual for a rosewood guitar. More in line with expectations is the strong bass respons. And the strong highs are best describes as mellow. All in all this guitar sounds very much like the OO-28 that Eric Clapton used on his classic Unplugged album. So if you have been dreaming about that thick acoustic tone this one is absolutely worth your attention and considerationOut of stock
